Amidst his off-season adventures, Chris Bumstead remains dedicated to maintaining his top-notch nutrition regimen. In a recent YouTube update, affectionately known as ‘Cbum,’ shares the delicious details of his protein shake while basking in the beauty of Aspen.

Rewinding to November 2023, Chris Bumstead wowed the bodybuilding realm with his stellar showcase at the Mr. Olympia competition. His flawless fusion of aesthetics, symmetry, and stature clinched him the coveted fifth Classic Physique title.

Post-Olympia triumph, ‘Cbum’ embarked on a whirlwind of excitement. Just seven days post-victory, he joyfully announced the impending arrival of a baby with his fiancée, Courtney King, slated for 2024. Following this blissful news, the five-time champion opted for a renal artery stem cell injection as a proactive measure for kidney health, further demonstrating his commitment to overall well-being.

Bumstead embarked on his journey of enhancements alongside his brother-in-law Iain Valliere in Turkey, opting for hair transplant treatments, underscoring his unwavering pursuit of self-betterment. Sharing his aspirations for this off-season, Bumstead expressed his determination to further sculpt his physique while maintaining high spirits and motivation.

Chris Bumstead’s Oreo McFlurry Protein Shake

Even amidst his Aspen getaway, Chris Bumstead remains dedicated not only to his training regimen but also to his nutrition. While savoring the serene atmosphere of Aspen, Bumstead excitedly divulged the ingredients of his protein-packed shake, brimming with essential vitamins and boasting a flavor profile that, according to the man himself, mirrors the beloved Oreo McFlurry.

Chris Bumstead’s Protein Shake

  • Almond Milk
  • 2 Scoops Cookie and Cream Raw Protein Powder
  • 1 Banana
  • 2 Scoops Collagen Powder
  • 2 Scoops Fiber
  • Ice
  • Vanilla Chocolate Chip Granola

Chris Bumstead generously provided not just the ingredients for his milkshake but also detailed step-by-step instructions on how to craft it to perfection. To kick off the process, Cbum combines almond milk with Raw protein powder and then tosses in a ripe banana for added creaminess and flavor.

“I am going to be making myself a little shake. I never used to do almond milk, I did water, but it just tastes better with it. I’ve been loving this cookie and cream protein and I do a little trick to it to make it taste even better.

So I blend this in there, I am going to do two scoops because I’ve got nothing else to eat in here right now. I am going to put a full banana.”

Next in his milkshake mastery, he sprinkles in bonus supplements such as collagen and fiber, a thoughtful touch inspired by his fiancée Courtney King, to boost its nutritional value and provide extra benefits.

“Courtney has some collagen that she has here, some fancy collagen, this is so my skin and nails grow back beautiful and my hair returns to the lavishness that I want it and then some fiber, also one of Courtney bougie fiber brands that I don’t even know.

That’s step 1-2-3. A bunch of chopped-up ice on the bottom there and then I’m going to blend this and show you guys the real trick” Bumstead added.

Once all the ingredients are blended to creamy perfection, ‘Cbum’ introduces his secret ingredient, elevating his protein shake to new heights of deliciousness and uniqueness.

“I blended the shit out of it. Hotel blenders kinda suck so it is a little watery like icy rather than milk shaky but I’ve been getting this vanilla chocolate chip purely Elizabeth granola, another one of Courtney’s bougie things and I put it in after it is blended.

I dump a bunch in here and because it is cookies and cream flavored protein and then this is chocolate chip granola, I blend that for like two seconds and it literally like you’re having an Oreo McFlurry with like chunks of cookie in it cause the granola is actually hard so it tastes like you are eating a cookie in your smoothie.”

Before savoring his delectable creation, Bumstead kindly reminds us not to overdo the blending process, as it could jeopardize that coveted cookie-like texture that makes the shake truly special.

“The trick with that is not blending it too long because it will turn into nothing and then you won’t have cookies you’ll just have extra shit blended up in there that you don’t get the texture for it.

As Chris Bumstead gears up for the 2024 Mr. Olympia, he remains keenly aware of the challengers vying for his spot atop the podium. Among them is Ramon Rocha Queiroz, his training partner, with whom he recently dominated a grueling back workout session at the gym. Queiroz himself is gearing up to defend his Arnold Classic title in just three weeks’ time.

While Bumstead fully embraces his off-season endeavors, he hasn’t forgotten the weight of expectation that comes with being a champion. Despite the pressure, he’s determined to prove himself time and again. Although he’s hinted at retirement in approximately two years, for now, his focus remains on delivering top-notch performances on the competitive stage.

As the reigning Classic Physique Olympia champion, Bumstead’s presence at the 2024 Arnold Classic will undoubtedly be a significant moment for contenders in the division. And even amidst the intensity of competition, ‘Cbum’ maintains his unwavering commitment to optimal nutrition throughout the off-season.
